The hub arranges a number of events including a research seminar series, workshops, international talks and conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Projects and Networks<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.sh.se\/digitalwelfare\/projects-and-networks\/74-2\/\">Algorithmic Infrastructures for Human Flourishing in Europe<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The project investigates the extensive implementation of automated decision-making (ADM) in the welfare sector across Europe. It is the first project to provide an analysis of automated welfare provision across different European welfare regimes. It examines the implications of algorithms and artificial intelligence for the future of European citizens and societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.sh.se\/digitalwelfare\/projects-and-networks\/the-digital-welfare-state\/\">The Digital Welfare State<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Hur f\u00f6r\u00e4ndrar sig medborgarnas inst\u00e4llning och tillit till v\u00e4lf\u00e4rdsinstitutioner n\u00e4r fler och fler beslut delegeras till digitala infrastrukturer? Hur f\u00f6r\u00e4ndras relationen mellan staten och medborgarna i samband med denna omst\u00e4llning? Med utg\u00e5ngspunkt i den p\u00e5g\u00e5ende utvecklingen och den alltmer omfattande implementeringen av automatiserat beslutsfattande unders\u00f6ker det f\u00f6reslagna projektet implikationerna av automatisering f\u00f6r demokratin inom v\u00e4lf\u00e4rden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.sh.se\/digitalwelfare\/projects-and-networks\/automating-welfare-in-the-baltic-sea-region-consequences-of-automated-decision-making-for-democratic-values\/\">Automating Welfare in the Baltic Sea Region: Consequences of Automated Decision-Making for Democratic Values<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This project investigates the implementation of automated decision-making in the welfare sector in the Baltic Sea region being one of the first to link automation to questions of shrinking trust, decline in civic participation and in extension challenges for democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.sh.se\/digitalwelfare\/projects-and-networks\/programmable-politics-civil-society-in-the-age-of-algorithmic-automation\/\">Programmable Politics: Civil Society in the Age of Algorithmic Automation<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digsum.org\/digsum-feed\/new-project-on-ai-in-politics\">project studies<\/a> how civil society practices are affected by algorithmic automation in terms of possibilities and hindrances for political deliberation on and around digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.sh.se\/digitalwelfare\/projects-and-networks\/automated-administration-governance-of-adm-in-the-public-sector\/\">Automated Administration: Governance of ADM in the Public Sector<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Combining theoretical, empirical and legal approaches, this four-year multidisciplinary research programme studies and analyses how good public governance can be achieved despite challenges associated with increased automation and AI systems in public decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogg.sh.se\/digitalwelfare\/projects-and-networks\/digital-surveillance-in-vulnerable-neighborhoods-stigmatization-or-safety\/\">Digital Surveillance in Vulnerable Neighborhoods: Stigmatization or Safety?<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The issue of safety and security in residential environments is topical, not least in areas that are currently severely affected by crime and unrest in the neighborhoods.
